What forms do I need to sign when registering my student for camp?
You will be required to sign three main forms: Parent Release Form: This form grants permission for your child to participate in camp activities under the care of the organizers. Video and Photography Release Form: This form allows the camp to use photos or videos of your child for promotional or educational purposes. Liability Form: This form acknowledges the risks associated with camp activities and typically indemnifies the camp organizers from liability for injuries or incidents that may occur during camp. Forms are signed during registration.
Why do I need to sign these forms?
These forms are essential for ensuring the safety and well-being of all camp participants. The Parent Release Form ensures that organizers can make decisions on your behalf in case of emergencies. The Video and Photography Release Form allows the camp to capture memories and promote future events. The Liability Form outlines the risks involved in camp activities and ensures that you understand and accept these risks.
What about horror and violence?
NW Film Camp has a strict nonviolence policy. We prioritize storytelling techniques that build suspense, tension, and psychological thrills without the use of graphic violence. Our focus is on creativity and encouraging students to craft compelling films that engage audiences through mood, sound design, and visual storytelling
What if my teen wants to work on bigger film projects?
Our Teen Filmmaker Lab is the perfect opportunity for aspiring filmmakers to create a narrative short film. Applications for the 2026 cohort open at the end of summer in Seattle and Portland.
